In an article in 'Radio Times' BBC presenter and atheist Evan Davis argues that it is time to open up the 'Thought for the Day' to non-believers.
At the end of the article there is a poll to allow readers to express their own opinions.
I think that seems to send the BBC a fairly clear message . . . .
I didn't know he was an atheist. And it would be about time seculars give their 2 cents in Thought of the Day. Ariane Sherine did, I think, but who else?
ReplyDeleteOh and, what is the point of Songs of Praise?
1) they did this poll some years ago and it rejected changing TotD, I understand. It's certainly much more honest of people if we now have such an huge majority for Truth!
ReplyDelete2) Songs of Praise has only two points in its favour - (a) some of the music is great and (b) some of the people are pretty. Oh yes, and I nearly forgot, it's obviously one of the things god created.
