Some quotes for certain US readers . . .

  • "The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason" ~ Benjamin Franklin
  • "I do not believe in the divinity of Christ.” ~ William Howard Taf
  • "I do believe in organic evolution. It surprises me that at this late date such questions should be raised.” ~ Woodrow Wilson
  • "The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.”~  John Adams, Treaty of Tripoli, 1796
  • "The Bible is not my book, nor Christianity my profession.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
  • "Keep the church and the state forever separated.”~ Ulysses S. Grant
  • “Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect.”~ James Madison

  1. There have been rational people in the USA for a long time. It's sad that irrationality is being promoted in media channels, like Mr Beck's.

  2. It certainly appears from my perspective in the UK that the sensible folk in the US need to find a stronger voice.

  3. All of the above quotes are either fabricated or incomplete. I've always been curious as to why secularists/atheists have traditionally been prone to using fake quotes to prove their point. Interesting.

  4. Note to readers: Bruce Gordon is the author of "Self Evident Truth: Restoring America Through The Bible, The Declaration Of Independence, And The Constitution".
